Amaro Selvatico: The Encounter between Vision and Alchemy

Amaro Selvatico is more than just a liqueur. It's the liquid tale of a friendship, of deep roots in Sicily, and of the meeting of two worlds: that of visionary entrepreneurship and that of the purest art of distillation.

The Origins: Two Paths, One Passion

It all began with the intuition of two Sicilian friends and entrepreneurs: Sebastiano Mazza and Adriano Mannino.

Sebastiano has catering in his blood. Since he was a child, he's been busy working the tables of Giardini Naxos's restaurants, growing up with a passion for hospitality. His thirst for knowledge has taken him far, to the finest hotels in Taormina, as far as Dublin and Switzerland, where he honed his technique and vision. The call of his homeland, however, is too strong: in 2022, he returns to open his own Osteria facing Isola Bella, a temple of seafood cuisine where his vision of flavor finally finds a home and success.

Adriano, on the other hand, embodies the strength of practicality. A born entrepreneur, he took over his father's small construction company and transformed it into a giant in the Ionian area. But his passion for good food remains with him. In 2019, he decided to invest in the heart of Taormina, opening a restaurant on Corso Umberto that celebrates the most authentic Sicilian tradition.

It was from the union of these two minds that the spark ignited. Sebastiano and Adriano had a clear idea: to create a bitter that broke the mold. They developed the first recipe themselves: the result was a fresh, balsamic, "wild" liqueur. Anyone who tasted it was instantly captivated. But to transform that first, excellent effort into a masterpiece capable of conquering the world, the experience of the masters was needed.

Meeting Excellence: The Giovi Distillery

The pursuit of perfection led the two founders to knock on the door of the Giovi Distillery, an institution that for forty years has transformed raw materials into noble spirit.

This is where an extraordinary family comes into play. There's the wisdom of patriarch Giovanni La Fauci, a master distiller who started out as a hobby at 14 in his grandfather's workshop and who today knows all about stills and pomace. There's the organizational strength of Mariella Torre, the company's cornerstone, and the strategic vision of his eldest son, Rocco La Fauci, who combines a degree in economics with the creativity of modern marketing.

The Genesis of Taste: Giuseppe and Sebastiano

But the real turning point, the moment when Amaro Selvatico takes its definitive form, comes thanks to the youngest member of the Giovi family: Giuseppe La Fauci.

Giuseppe inherited not only his name from his father, but also his crystal-clear talent for distillation and an innate curiosity for the world of mixology. He is the modern alchemist who takes up Sebastiano and Adriano's challenge.

A unique synergy is created, particularly between Sebastiano and Giuseppe. On one hand, the chef's expertise in taste and ingredients, on the other, the distiller's impeccable technique. Together, they work side by side, balancing the botanicals, perfecting the infusions, innovating while respecting tradition. Giuseppe manages to "translate" Sebastiano's fresh and balsamic intuition into a stable, elegant, and extraordinarily balanced product.

Today

The result of this collaborative effort is the Amaro Selvatico you're drinking today. A product that embodies Adriano's entrepreneurial spirit, Sebastiano's refined taste, Giovanni's historical wisdom, and Giuseppe's technical innovation.

A sip of Sicily, born of friendship and distilled with passion.
